My group of 14 decided to try Hendry's Boathouse on a Saturday at 11 am during Labor Day weekend--quite the adventure! The views were stunning, but the wait time was over two hours. We put our names down and spent the time relaxing at the beach, which made the wait more manageable. About 40 minutes in, we realized we could order food to go, so we decided to do just that. We got a variety of dishes and enjoyed them at one of the picnic tables nearby. The food was great, and everyone was happy with the meal--a perfect option if you don't want to wait too long. I'd love to come back someday and experience dining inside the restaurant.

Hmmmm... 3.5 is more accurate and I'll tell you why... The restaurant has an ideal location and would be a perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail or sunset cocktail. So atmosphere wise, both inside or out are great. Our server was excellent, as well. Kudos there. I'd maybe come back for a Happy Hour, but just not sure. I have the bitter taste of way overpriced and not very good crab claws in my mouth. The entrees we ordered were good, so I'll start with the good and come back to the crab claws (aka the not good) The Pan Seared Scallops were plump and delicious with a perfect sear, and the cheesy lobster and crab risotto with broccolini was plentiful and delicious. The Grilled Ahi was a huge portion and solid if just a bit bland, but the sauce and tempura veggies made up for it. Though the tempura was a bit dark and over fried and not a light batter like it should be. The Mud Pie for my birthday was a very nice gesture and so good. Thank you for that! But... here's where the stars come off... Our bad for not asking the market price of the crab claws... They were $55+ for three, which is pretty darn steep, and would have been slightly more acceptable if they were sweet and tender and amazing. They were not. Not even close. The crab claws were bland, seemed like they came right out of the freezer, and were more like popsicles than tender, chunky, silky pieces of delicious crab. The meat did not want to come out, and it was a struggle to get pieces out of the tip of the claw. You really had to crack the shell more than normal, and so you had pieces of shell where normally you would not. When I finally got in, the ends were black and scrawny. A major disappointment. Our bad for not saying something about them when we were there... but sometimes when you're celebrating you let things go. We should have said something and I regret not doing so, but we didn't want to taint the celebration, so we didn't. Argh... I still have a slightly bitter taste in my mouth thanks to those MP Crab Claws, and really just wanted to more fully love this place. Hmmm...

View is great and service is fast. Food is mid but that's not why you come here. Crab Cake Benedict is alright (especially with their potatoes that are just stacked on the ground) and their Michelada was not great. Bring a dog, bring friends, spend the day on the beach. Start of finish off with over priced meh cuisine and pray you don't need to use theirs or the public bathroom. Happy adventuring!

We hasn't been back here for a long time since my mom birthday few years back(2018). Mainly because each time I had a day off from work, the weather is super cold and foggy. We came back to day on a sunny nice warm weather.the wait was 30'. We sat out side taking some photo and watch the waves while waiting. The restaurant has different furniture inside. Our waiter Ariel was attentive. Food suggestion: we preferred if the seared Ahi tuna dish was little balance. Rather add little fish with little more extra prices or skim down the slaw part. Because It is way too much slaw while the fish almost can't be seen. Flavor of the dish is good though. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich. After halftime eating out meal, I tried a bite of my husband sweet potato fries. A compliment to the chef who do a great job of keeping the sweet potato fries are crisp outside while inside is moist. Shrimp cocktail, not that to remember or order again. Clam chowder is good enough to my taste as I prefer my chowder not too heavy on the dairy. My lobster Taco: I normally don't order Mexican food except ceviche and menudo, but today I decided to try this Taco because I saw a lady next to me was having it. I enjoyed it though. Perhaps the lobster meat is little dry out otherwise it would reach up to 10/10 points. Banana Foster: I really loved the concept of this dessert dish but perhaps dial down on the sauce because they are tooooo sweet. My.Blind Burro drink ( I noticed te drink has lime, orange, and pineapple juice and Malibu rum . I told our waiter I don't like coconut cream flavor, and I prefer my drink on a sweet side less sour, so I asked to skip the lime juice and replace Malibu. However, the drink wasn't sweet and still a little bitterly strong for me( probably alcohol that was listed as floating on top of the drink). It was busy so I didn't want to bother to send the drink back because it was more like my taste preference but no one fault. Therefore, I added a few squeezed orange slices, a shot of simple syrup that I asked upfront and a few oz of melted ice to balance my taste). It worked magically. I don't normally order alcohol when I go to a restaurant, but when I do, I either choose cocktail that has rum but dial down to half shot sometimes, or mitchilade. the only alcohol type that I can handle. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich. I tried a bite of his fries. They do a great job of keeping the sweet potato fries crisp outside while inside is moist. Overall, with a great ocean view, lunch for 2 people with 2 alcohol drink, 2 appetizer, 1 cup of soup, and 2 entree for 130.18$ plus tip is not bad at all. Don't you agree?
